The colour on my PSP screen is gone there is also a line across it

If the LCD screen has a line across it, then it possible that your LCD is going bad. If you know how to open it see if the flex is still connected properly from the LCD to the PSP board. If not, I would suggest taking it to the repair shop if it can't be fix by the flex (cable that connects the LCD to the board) then this needs to be replace.

If you PSP is still under warranty then it best to have Sony fix this for you, they can even replace this with a new one or a refurbish one.
