Brand new microwave lights up plate turns around everything works except nothing heats up! Please advise!

If everything works, but no heat sounds like the magnetron circuit has failed. Since it is brand new, just take it back to the store and complaint that it does not work, and ask for a refund or replacement oven.

My GE microwave model #JVM1640WB microwave stopped heating and is making a humming noise. Everything else about it is fine. Light, keypad, turntable, all work normally. Just no heat. How do I...

Hello, installing is quite straight forward if you know what youre doing. BUT, be very careful of the voltage in the capacitor even when its off,it is lethal! When you change the magnetron it is advisable that you also change the diodes. Again make sure that the capacitor is fully discharged, by switching the microwave off, unplugging it, and discharging the capacitor with an insulated screwdriver, it will be noisy. Next unsolder the old diodes and fit the new ones(check their polarity). Replace the magnetron and when all looks good, switch it on. If it works, good, if not there could be a power supply problem. 9 times out of 10 its the magnetron. Good luck.

GE microwave -crackles and sparks as if metal inside

The problem you are having is that the magnetron that does the heating is shorting out and it needs to be replaced before it damages the inside covering of the microwave. www.mwoparts.com is a good source for magnetrons or other similar sites. To replace is easy enough. Taking the cover off with the power off, you will find it behind and on the top right side of the control panel. It is held in place normally with just 4 screws and two wires with terminals attached to it. So removing and replacing is pretty straightforward. Just be sure all the power is off until you have everything back in place. Good luck.

HI. I have a Whirlpool Microwave (MH6141XKB). It will not reheat the food and makes a louder "humming" sound than normal. Other than that, everything works fine. Please advise. Brent

The magnatron in your oven has gone out and will need replaced!( This is the device that heats up your food) If everything is working and your food is not getting hot 99.9 percent of the time its the Magnatron or its fuse! The loud humming is also a big clue the MAGNATRON has gone bad!
