What you can try is hooking up a USB keyboard to try and see if that Y is working now if it workes on a external keyboard then its time to use your apple care to have the keyboard switched out. I know you where looking for a better answer then this but the issue is complexity and time. I want you to diagnose your problem and solve it that way not fix the wroung problem make sense? So if the external keyboard wroks then the mac book keyboard will need repair.
