Sub repairable? The rubber has come loose on my 10" MTX subwoofer. Can this be repaired or will I need to replace it? It's about 3 years old.

It should tell you on the back of the sub ,The continus watts it will handle, If not phone the place you got it from, Or some place that sells them,

junk it upgrade to a mtx thunder square 8500 im just waitin to blow my L7 10 but its taking like 8 years,,, hahaha

The MTX Thunder 6000 T61544A is a 15" Subwoofer meaning you will need a 15" hole to fit the subwoofer into. The mounting plate that surrounds the subwoofer will extend past 15" allowing you to screw the sub in properly. Be sure to use a box that is at least 12 inches deep (sub is 10 inches deep by specifications + 2 inches for good air cushion behind.

I used this stuff to repair a tear in the rubber surround on a kicker solobaric 10", it has held up for 10 years, seal the front and back if possible and allow to dry/cure completely. good luck :)

Sounds like your sub is overextending itself, and possibly losing contact at the voice coil. Overextending will make a weird rattling sound, losing contact at the voice coil will make a popping sound.

I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck

there is an underlying cause for the fuse to blow. if something shorts out you would rather a 40 cent peice goes then the unit causing a fire. disassembly is require... look for obvious burnt parts first.

I had same problem with a TC6001 and get solution from MTX, not send to MTX instead MTX kindly sent a quotation for parts to be replaced, I can tell you what parts need to be replaced if you still need a solution.

is the rubber worn outta of them u can replace that easy nice quilty ring sets on ebay 20 bucks or u want new sub try mtx middle model 12 in to replacxe would be nice with your highs good mix
