The paddle tries to knead the dough but it can't, as it doesn't seem to have enough power to do it. It used to work fine, then we moved and it sat dormant for about a year.
Hello, Either the blade is sticking or the belt is loose. Take the pan out and see if you can spin the paddle freely by hand. The paddle should turn nice and free. If it doesn't then the lubricated bearing the paddle rotates on is sticking. This could be due to wear. Put some warm water in the pan and let it sit. Try a few times...DO NOT put the whole pan in water...just fill it. If that's a no go the lubricated bearing is frozen and the pan needs to be replaced. If everything is fine in the pan, then the belt is loose. Belt, pulleys and motor are located in the base of the machine. Remember to unplug first before working on it.. Hank
Hello, I had the same problem. The kneading blade would try to turn, but would squeek and moan and appeared "frozen". After checking to make sure the belt was good, and that it was just the spindle of the kneading blade that wasn't turning easily, I inverted the pan and squirted Liquid Wrench in the center, (available at any hardware store near the WD-40), lightly tapped it a few times with a small hammer, and let it sit, about the length of time it took to drive 4 miles to Walmart to buy a new bread machine since it didn't work immediately. When I returned home, the blade rotated most easily with just the tip of my finger. Bread machine is working great!!!
