I have a TLA 04641C serial # BR8B0505560002883 Polaroid TV

When first turned on it would show streaks and blurrs on the screen for several months. It just recently started when first turned on just shows a blank dark screen. After turning it on and offf for several times it came on with the streaks. It usually gets a good picture after a while sometimes as much as 30 minutes. This most recent thing of not showing a picture at all when first turned on makes me think it will not last much longer.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

SOURCE: Remote code for dish network

Please follow the steps below to program your remote control to equipment other then your DISH receiver:
Note: If you start this procedure and at any time and do not press a button within 20 seconds, the remote will end the procedure automatically. Simply start over again. Use the TV button for your TV, the VCR button for your VCR or DVD player. These Mode buttons are located at the top of your remote control.
1. With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button backlights illuminate, then release.
2. Press the numbers 5-0-0 on the remote control.
3. Press the Pound (#) button on the remote.
4. Press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button backlights illuminate, then release.
5. Press and release the Power button on the remote control.
6. Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
7. Press the Pound (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.
8. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment. Let me know if this helps and please rate the solution.   lone99star

SOURCE: Polaroid TLA-04641C no sound

You should go into the menu SOUND section of your tv. Look for the TV Speaker choice option.
This will have to be turned on to get sound from the tv.

SOURCE: POLAROID TLA-04011C does not turn on

The most likely the TV has a power supply related problem or it maybe just a blown fuse inside the TV.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by some chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Need an owner manual for TLA D4641C

Thought that was going to be easy but Polaroid no longer have the manuals available for download on their site. Typical.

Anyway, here's a direct link to download your user manual (free):

http://www.hdtvreview.com/pdf/polaroid-tla-04641c-manual.pdf

Click the link, PDF will open in a new window. From there you can view, save and print. Please note your model number is actually TLA-04641C.

Please rate my solution if you find this helpful. Thanks.

I have a 46'' Polaroid HDTV model TLA-04641C

It hasn't been 'unplugged' until you have let it stay that way overnight. There are components that need to discharge and that can take hours. You wrote 'standard sounds;' did this mean audio or something else?
If you have normal audio but no identifiable video, then the backlight or the inverter for the backlight has failed.
If audio is present, try looking at the screen from several angels to see if you can identify some ghost-like video. If so, then the above suspicion is pretty much confirmed.
I hate that the modern sets seem so prone to failure, it isn't a good trade-off for the increase in quality of the results. Most of these are not poor engineering but the effort to build them with the cheapest possible parts inside, often only saving a few dollars, but ruining their reputation.

Tla-04641c wont power standby light comes on and the relay clicks but nothing with the power button like im not even pushing it. opened it and pulled the power supply...no capacitors looked bad though i...

Hey listen bulldog, I am just having the same problem! Exact same thing, standy led on, power supply and boards seem like new, but tv doesnt power up! I read a schematic at http://www.polaroidsupport.com/polaroid/docs/TLA-04011C_TLXB-4011_TLXB-4241_ServiceManual_20070613.pdf and if you follow it through it states, to change the control box!! I have fair confidence that I can replace the control box because I have experience in soldering and have built my own computers before as also swapping major components in laptops as well! So I am willing to take the risk to fix this but heres the problem!! I dont know where or what the control box is or where to go to buy a new one! POLAROID customer service is aweful, unless you know the manufacturing plant and can go there, they wont be much help! I hope this info helps you, if you got the problem fixed can you tell me what you did or where I can look to get my issue resolved! Need anything else just post here!
