Be careful with your wiring as some models have a reset switch. Your best bet is to mount new external metal boxes to the frame and obtain industrial switches capable of carring the amperage load that the motors are drawing. Then you'l have identical controls on all units so future control problems will be esasy to solve. In your wiring, always remember that the black is the hot side and always routes through the switch and then to the motor while the white bypasses the switch and goes direct to the motor. In event you have a reset switch,, your black will go in as well as out of the reset and then through the switch to the motor.
Hope this helps.

How do i get to the trigger on a dwalt939 circular saw

The way your saw is built, the only way to get the switch is to split the clamshell. Depending on where the screws holding the two halves together are, you may or may not have to remove the upper blade guard and shoe assembly to do it.

Replace gear case dewalt 364

It usually takes longer if the customer "helps" by taking the tool apart first so with that in mind if you try it and cant get it the tech you take it too may charge you more than if you took it there first. Now if you're fairly good mechanically you might do just fine. It's a time consuming job though.

Saw is smoking

First I would check to two wire leads coming from the switch to the brushes. They will often melt from too much heat. There is a very good chance that the switch is bad too. Here is the parts diagram. The leads I referred to are items 43 and 44.

My 18v dewalt cordless circular saw wont run any more,i smelt a burning smell when cutting.could it be burnt out?

The armature could very well be shorted out. You may want to contact a DeWalt service center and ask about the GRC repair program. Here is a parts diagram.

Need to replace the cord. Before I open it up, wanted to verify that it has serveceable connectors inside?

generally they have ring terminals on the switch or the wires need to be soldered to be pushed into and lock into the switch. ON some rare occasions I have seen wire nuts, so you should be OKAY just make yourself a wiring diagram before removing anything, it makes reassembly easier.

The Switching should go like this

(single letters denote wire color)

Y---o o---R

B---o o---B

The contacts where the black wires attach are the points on the switch that break when continuity is checked.
