well first try flushing the engine with a motor flush incase the noise is from sticking lifters..than when you change the oil i recomend lucas oil treatment..it not only improves the viscosity of the oil but coats the parts much better than any other additive ive ever seen

Multi viscosity oil use is dependant on the average temperature whare you will be driving. Read the can/bottle for recomended temperature range for the oil you are looking to use.

hi, mercedes are good for 200,000 before you change transmission oil, hope this helps my E300 has done 350,000 and still changes fine as the oil is not a lubricant as such it lasts longer and does not lose it's viscosity, hope this helps you, thanks for useing fixya

Right oil for my car

you want to use the 5w20 for best fuel efficiency and easier cold starts especially in bc. multiweight oil has made great strides in the years past. also synthetic oil is a good alternative but you should also use the manufacturer's recommended viscosity. the thinner oil also allows better lubrication on smaller passageways.
