My upright electrolux persicion vacuum when turned on just makes a horrible sound both on bare floor and on carpet brush does not turn

Hi, sounds like you need a new belt or brush and bearings . Sometimes when a belt goes it makes a bad noise as one of the belt teeth make be worn out. Hope this helps.

My Dyson CDC14 Animal just started making a wierd sound coming from the rotating brush area. I already cleaned around the brush, sounds like a fast rattling sound.

Hello,

Something could be jammed, or not rotating freely, maybe an improper alignment with the brushes, or a blocakage within them. Try to re adjust the brushes :)

Hello. I took the sole plate of to clean the brushes on my dyson dc14 however the brush part came out and i put it back in but since then whenever i switch it over to carpet setting it makes this really...

You really need to take the sole plate back off and make sure the belt is running exactly where it's supposed to go and not looped over a piece of plastic or anything. More important is that you make sure the ends of the brush are seated properly and the bearings the brush is mounted to are clean and rotate freely. Look at each component and make sure they are assembled perfectly. Make sure a plastic ring or piece that goes on the end of the brush didn't get dropped under a piece of furniture and you forgot about it. If the problem keeps happening, take the brush and belt back out and carefully turn the machine on to see if it makes the sound. If it doesn't make the sound with the brush out, the problem is with the brush assembly. If it does make the sound, the clutch that turn the brush on and off is damaged and needs to be replaced. You can order a new clutch assembly and replace it without much trouble. They want you to think you can switch between floor and carpet settings all the time but it's really really stressful on that clutch to switch between settings with the motor running. Think about how powerful that motor is. Think about the poor unassuming brush assembly being jerked to life by that powerful motor running at full speed. I've seen that destroy a clutch in about two years. Anyway, it's much better for the life of your dyson to turn the motor off when you switch to carpet mode (when you turn the brushes on). You probably don't have to bother turning off the motor when turning the brushes off, or switching to bare floor mode, because it's not that stressful on the mechanism to just disengage the running motor.

I ran over a shoe lace and now it is making a loud rattling noise

The All Floors model has a protective belt clutch system and the rattling sound means the clutch has slipped. This would have to be repaired officially by a Dyson repairer.

Brush bar does not turn & makes a loud noise

You need to clean your roller and replace the clutch assembly that drives the belts. poorly designed vacuum with many flaws.

Brush roller does not rotate around

If the rotating brush doesn't turn, then it's almost a certianty that the belt (which connects the rotating brush to the motor pulley of the vacuum) is either horribly stretched or just plain broken. Either way, it needs to be replaced. The correct Hoover belt part # for your vacuum is 38528040 (changed from the original part number of 38528027). This is a very common Hoover belt, but would recommend your best source as being a local, independently-owned vacuum dealer dealer (as opposed to a deprtment / big box store, both of which carry very limited belts).

My dyson is making a loud horrible noise

Hi.

Check the brush roller can be moved by hand & that it is not snagging on something.
If it is difficult to rotate remove sole plate by turning the 3 plastic screws to unlock position lift plate off & clean brush roller & check you can turn it after this.
If brush roller is free to rotate the chances are the clutch is faulty & will need to be replaced.
Go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
It has manuals that cover clutch replacing on all Dyson models.

DC 07 BRUSH BAR DOES NOT TURN BELT OK

Stand vacuum up and with it plugged in. Rotate knob between carpet and bare floor and back 5 times leaving it on carpet when finished. Rotate vacuum back from upright position and lay vacuum on the floor, rotating it onto its side. Turn vacuum on.
