'Unable to Charge'?

I just got a new Razor V9 yesterday and I plugged the charger in to charge it up. I got a message on the screen that said 'unable to charge'. I noticed that the front display light wouldn't go off and the battery was dead after a couple of hours. At that time, it allowed me to charge it. The display light turns off, but tonight when I plugged the charger in, I get the same message 'unable to charge'. Does the battery have to be totally dead before it can be charged again??? Is it a defective phone???

    I had a Samsung Sync and had it replaced twice through warranty but had too many problems, so they just sent me the razor V9...it's a refurb. I'll try a different charger and see if that works. Thank you!!

    I just bought a Motorola Razr2 V9... its 3-4 days old... and when I try and charge it, I get a message that says my phone os unable to charge...
    I tried charging it on my laptop via the usb connection and I tried my normal charger in every socket of the house... it worked the other day but now it isn't
    what can I do to fix this or do I need to get a new phone?

    and when you take battery out and plug charger in it blinks off and on

Motorola v9 does not power on but when put on charger powers on but says unable to charge under att called warranty got new phone does the same thing whats up

COULD BE THE PHONE BUT MOST LIKELY ITS THE CHARGER, IF ITS AFTERMARKET GET RID OF IT AND BUY OEM, TRY AND TEST IT OUT WOULD A FREINDS MOTOROLA CHARGER SINCE THEY'RE MOSTLY THE SAME CHARGERS AND SEE IF YOU STILL GET THE MESSAGE.

Check the contacts between phone and battery, if necessary align or clean. Are you using original Motorola charger? This solved my problem; I was trying to charge it with one of those "universal" chargers.

I try to charge my razor using my blackberry charger but it wont work it keeps saying "unable to charge" why?

from explanation this means that you are trying to charge your razor with another phone charger , it will not work out for them self because they are not compatible .

what you need to get your razor phone is the type of his own charger ,but if you can not fine it own charger then you will have to go the store together with your razor phone then will help in locating it own charger that will work for with out any damage on your phone

My v3 has done the same sometimes I couldn`t charge then taking it off charge it used to die.
Try a new battery.

I had an old Motorola V3, which used to show me that error. It could result if the charger is not firmly connected to the phone. To diagnose this, try borrowing someone's moto charger. It's also possible that battery contacts could have dust. Try dusting them off so that they're nice and shinny as usual. Finally, try removing the battery for a few minutes, reinsert and charge, leave the phone off when you charge. The phone usually starts working after the regimen. If the problem persists, you'd know which method worked and what failed, so you can press for a warranty. Cheers

V3 unable to charge
reflash the firmware this will correct the charging issues and if that does not fix it then have the mainboard replaced.

Unable to charge the razor
there may be a short in the wire or in the plug. try wiggling it around a little bit and see if you can get a connection

you may need to have the usb charger port replaced....if that does not work try reflash the original firmware on the phone....for this to be done it is best that you take the phone to a mobile center close to you.

Unable to charge :(
Does it say something like "charger not recognized". I remember having this problem with my razor, and it drove me crazy for several days, then it went away and has never returned. I may have also blasted all the txt messages away to help fix it to. Killing all the txt messages seems to help this phone if its acting up. Definitely speeds up the menu operation. Apparently 250 txt messages is its capacity, even though it will store alot more.
