I heard a pop and now the micro is not heating but everything else works

The pop sound is an indicator the magnetron is gone that heats the food. It is cheaper to replace the microwave oven than have it repaired.

That pop was the magnetron frying. This is a repairable problem, but feirly expensive, around $300 if you have it done by a professional.

HI, the magnetron has failed at this point. the pop you herd was from the magnetron tube. i would also check the high limit capacitor as well. it may have caused this pop as well.

I would replace the capacitor(high limit) and magnetron in this case.

The failed magnetron has been automatically confirmed by the no heating issue but, the cap may be on its way out soon.

Put in model number all parts for micro will pop up, order what you need.

HEating element popped and needs to be replaced. Also check for discoloring on the sides and back of the panel. This will also tell you what is going on. Make sure that the power cord did not break either and that it is fully attached where it is supposed to go

This is usually caused by a blown high voltage rectifier diode.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Indeed, sounds like the magnetron is shot. Not a big deal, I've replaced them before. But unless you know what your doing, don't! If under warranty, get a service tech out. Check on the service call charge ($) first....it may be cheaper to buy a new micro!
