Go to here: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/?sku=TH1702 and download either of the Firmware Updates/Restore Utility and run it on your PC while your 1702 is connected via USB.

Mine wouldn't connect and would tell me it was too full (even though I had plenty of space) and would shut down. I ran this utility, and it reinstalled the firmware and formatted the device, now it works perfectly.

My player shuts down immediately after display the message, "Usable memory exceeded, remove a few files." I tried running the firmware update but nothing happened. How do I fix this problem?

Hello,

You might already have the TH17 series Quick Start Guide:

For radio on the TH1702, look in the manual on page 16:

I have a TH1702-A RCA MP3 player and when I turn it on it frozen on the PEARL screen is blocked or something. HELP!!!

Hello,

Taking out and replacing the battery might help, mostly.

There's also a trouble shoot page:
http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7534/session/L3NpZC83MTZlM1ktag%3D%3D/kw/TH1702/p/158/r_id/103795/sno/0

When needing the manual look here:

I'd appreciate your vote if this helped.

My TH1702 will not give me the option to transfer music from the computer to the player. The easyrip menu says to connect the player, but it already is connected to the computer.

I have found the easiest way to get music to my player is to treat it like a removable harddisk or regular thumbdrive. After you have the mp3 files ready that you wish to copy to the TH1702, plug the unit into your computer's usb port and it will show up as removable storage. Navigate your explorer or finder window to it and copy the mp3 folders over.

I hope that helps.

RCA M4002 mp3 does not turn on.

Download the latest firmware upgrade from www.rcaopal.com to restore the player. The firmware upgrade file will be on the "Download Upgrades" section of the website.
