Fan runs for hours after use

If we use our oven to bake something, even for 20 minutes. The fan will run for hours like it's trying to cool the oven down. If I open the door and put my hand inside the after about 20 minutes from turning the oven off it's barely warm. Why does the fan continue to run? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thank you.

Brad

    Thanks for the quick response.

Where is the the sensor for the fan?

    Thanks again.

Would it be OK to completely take the sensor off and not replace it? Or will that destroy the oven in short period of time?

The fan is in place to cool the electronics it will run after the unit is off it is possible you have a bad sensor on the fan circuit leaving it to run too long

We have a new Bosch build in double oven the cooling fan stayed on for 30 minutes after being in use for 20 minutes temp 200c is this normal

Many electric ovens built within the last 10 years have a circuit that runs the fan once the oven has been turned off after use. It's normal

Why does the cooling fan on the oven continue to run?

Never heard of a cooling fan in an oven.they are usually used for fan baking, which speeds up cooking.

After baking at 425 degrees, ew30mc65js2 will not shut off - fan continues to run and some heat, although lower, continues after 1.5 hours

Hi - if you still have your user manual I think you will find that oven have a time delay designed into the electronics for cool down purposes after the cycles completed. If it does shutdown after say 1.5hrs, it may seem a bit long but its actually doing what its designed to do, it should not be heating but circulating the hot air thru the oven.

We use to have a similar problem with our F & P BI600 wall oven - what we've done is have the door slightly ajar to quicken the cool down process until one day the fan ran continously - then I had it disconnected.

I hope this may help with your situation, if its running continously then its best to disconnect the cool down fan, the bake fan is normally on a separate circuit and not affected.

Hobart convexion oven model CN90 . THE FAN MOTOR CUTS OFF AND ON WHEN IT IS IN USE WHAT CAUSE THIS I THOUGHT IT IS SUPPOSE TO RUN ALL THE TIME

No they usually run 2 minutes one way and 2 minutes in opposite direction to even out the baking.
Unless its erratic then something else is wrong.

How do i turn the fan off.

Hello,
If you mean the oven fan that will turn off on control switch.I think you may be talking about the cooling fan. This is to cool the electrical panel on the top front of cooker. It comes on after the oven heats up and may stay running for 15 or 20 minutes after cooker is turned off it will turn off after the unit has cooled down sufficiently for the controller.
Hope I helped.

Good Luck.

Oven set to 350F, using type k thermocouple , omega, left reading 370F, right side reading 389F, noticed the cooling fan is not running, baking problems, too ho.

You will not get an even temperature if the circulating fan is not working.

You need to check the fan control circuit and find out why the fan is not coming on, possibly a failed switch relay?

Oven fan keeps running even after off and door open

3 to 4 hours is a long time. Get to the fans (behind the control panel) and check the screens for dust. Chances are the screens are clogged with dust and need to be cleaned so the fans can move air for cooling better. I had this problem on my GE JTP14, and after cleaning just one fan it can keep up with cooling the electronic area while the oven is running. It runs much less often.

Safety first! cut the breaker before removing anything with a nice conductive screwdriver! Hope this helps!
