I have an upright Kenmore freezer #253.21741106. I need to replace the electronic control. I see by the diagram that the overlay needs to be removed to gain access. How is the overlay held in place? Does it snap off over peel off or what? I do not want to accidentally destroy it because it is a pricey item. What should I do?

Where is the 9V battery located on a Kenmore upright freezer model 970

The location of the 9V battery on a Kenmore upright freezer model 970 can vary depending on the specific model and design. However, in general, the 9V battery is typically located in the control panel or on the back of the freezer near the compressor. You may need to consult the freezer's manual or contact Kenmore customer support for more specific information regarding your model.

I have a kenmore upright frostless freezer. Every time the power goes off to the house the electronic controller in the freezer resets itself to off. Is there a solution for this?

About the only thing you can do is get an UPS system to have steady power. It was a bad design on the mother board, that so far the manufacturer has chosen to correct.

Not that this diagram is a lot of help, but I did find this on a Sears website:

Kenmore upright - wont defrost, runs continuously and wont freeze properly

well don't be surprised, these electronic fridges run on dc electronics also and are sensitive to power surges. is this the freezer because there's no thermostats just the limit control. use a surge protector on the outlet to protect the electronics. if your still having problems get the limit sensors changed first (if applicable). if you want to go the safe way, I'd consider buying a surge protector and connecting it to the power.you can e-mail me with any questions @ [email protected]
