SOURCE: Nikon N65 Film Camera Broken latch

You have to replace the whole door. There is one on eBay, but you won't like the price. Find it here: eBay

SOURCE: Canon Z85 film door clasp is broken

I would spring for the clip. Mine broke in the same manner but no one told me it could be fixed, so I got a different camera. I have NEVER had a camera that took such great photos as my Z85, and wish I had hung onto it.

SOURCE: Broken latch on film door

Usually on this level Nikon it was a plastic "hook", part of the door moulding, that was retained by the latch mechanism in the body. The broken part may still be in there - if it is trip the latch and recover it with a tiny screwdriver or even a needle. If you can't find a replacement back door you can try welding the hook back in place with a low-temperature soldering iron - with the tip perfectly clean and a very steady hand - as long as the door is thermoplastic and not thermosetting. If that doesn't work bend a paperclip or similar to exactly the right shape with the free ends (roughened) long enough to extend into the plastic of the door by 4-5mm., heat the wire and push slowly into the edge of the door. There are many variations of this technique that I've used, all require extremely careful work! Best tip: spend more time thinking than doing. Good luck.

SOURCE: Back of camera will not close

Yes, the film door was always a problem on these. The entire door was usually replace since it was one piece with the latch.

I do not believe that Nikon supplies the part any more. You can check eBay for a dead camera, or possibly a new /used door.

The other option is a repair kit available from USCamera.com

Hi My camera (finpix S1000fd) 10.0 mega pixels, the door where you put the batteries when you open it there are some small things that hold it closed but two of them are broken. where can i go and fix it?

Sadly it will probably cost more to fix than it will to buy a new camera from Amazon. If you don't mind the "cosmetic smudge" use a bit of gaffa tape to keep the door shut.

The spring in the clasp has broken so the watch band will not stay closed. How can I fix this problem?

replace clasp is the best option..if clasp has 2 buttons on it these can be a easy fix but they always break again so i would replace clasp section or even all the bracelet for the watch .you will need model and serial numbers of the watch then try manufacture or ebay or a repairer

Dishwasher will not latch

more than likely the safety clasp inside of the door panel is broken. On the dishwasher at the top where the latch fits there should be a small metal shaft extruding from the dishwasher side. This shaft, when the door is closed, pushes a bar inside the door to release the latch for closing. If this shaft is protruding from the dishwasher side and insert into the door slot then the latch mechanism in the doior itself needs replacing. If the saft is missing then it needs replacing. Get the model and serial #'s off the unit and take them to an appliance parts house for the proper part replacement.

Hope this helped you

I need a new back piece for a nikon f65. the catch has broken and i need to fix it. any ideas where i can get one? and an idea of a possible cost?

There are so many cameras out of production now. My thought would be to go to ebay and look up nikon parts in the camea section. Most parts are not that expensive. If the back is not module then go to a camera repair person you at least have the part. I've had to do that twice. Good luck.

Optio 555 Battery Compartment cover problem

My Optio 450 has the same type of cover and I am surprised how tough the cover is. I thought it would have broken by now. I suggest a call to Pentax would answer your question about getting it fixed. Alternatively, just leave it. The Plastic hinge should keep it closed
