Just reinstall the driver for it ..if it has no driver it works just with the generic one in windows and the scroll and select will not be allowed..or install a usb mouse and will be easier to work and have all features..(in case the driver is not available for the touch pad )
here is the place to look for the pad's driver ..

Touch pad not working

Click Start/Control Panel andlook for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sureyou don't have the touchpad disabled.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on thebutton that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.

Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upperleft hand corner of the touchpad.

Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press andHold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of thekeyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key tohit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents thetouchpad.

Lookfor downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system whenrequested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.

Toshiba touch pad not working to tap of finger

First got to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Mouse(or there may be a separate Touch Pad setup) and check were options for touchpad Settings Options are tabbed or listed.

All touchpads allow on/off settings for Tap or NoTap. Also, check Sensitivity Settings. If very low, then Tap would have to be very hard to be recognized.

Next, reboot your computer.

Laptop touch pad doesn't work properly

Here is what I did to get the touchpad to start working again. My laptop is Gateway and a couple years old, running Windows Vista.

1. Start>Control Panel
2. Double-click on Mouse icon (or button, depending on how you're systems set up).
3. When a the Mouse Properties window pops up, choose the Device Settings tab.
4. Click on the Settings... button.
5. A new window pops up and on the right side there is a list of options - choose Tapping.
6. Once clicked, there is a check box that allows you to Enable Tapping.
7. Click OK to close out your windows and the tapping option should be enabled on your touchpad.

Hopefully this helps.

Tap feature on MAcbook 2.4Ghz 2GB

I am running mac OS 10.5.5 and Win XP using parallels.  You need to make sure the system preferences in the mac OS to allow two fingers for secondary click using the trackpad. This allows you to right click in Win XP.
I find using two fingers and clicking the button works more reliably in windows xp.  I usually have to try two finger tapping a few times.

To right click by tapping: Go to System Preferences and choose Keyboard & Mouse.  Select "Clicking" and "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click". This allows you to tap the trackpad with two fingers side by side to get the "right click" effect.  You can also right click without tapping with this setting.

To right click without tapping:
Go to System Preferences and choose Keyboard & Mouse.  Select "For secondary clicks, place two fingers on the trackpad then click the button". This allows you to right click by placing two fingers on the trackpad and then clicking the mouse button. 0acf97a.png
