Unable to print or scan from XP Mode in Windows 7 Ultimate.

I am running lenovo 3000 G 530 core 2 duo with 250 GB HDD and 4GB original Lenovo RAM.
I have purchased retail copy of Window 7 Ultimate,Instlled, actvated on Feb 28, 2010.
I have installed XP mode on May 21, 2010.
With the help of Video , I have successfully installed brother software from available CD on XP mode.
However I am unable to print or scan from XP mode.
It shows that it is off line.
I have unplugged and replugged the USB cable. I have also rebooted in the XP mode but it is not working.
When I boot the XP mode the Contol Center Flashes and gets installed.
I can open the Control Center, but can not perform any action.
Your valuable advice is grately appreciated.

SOURCE: Printer message: Unable to Print

5A means that the purge cam stopps abnormally when it is in use. This could be of a broken cam shaft. You have to replace the whole purge unit. This is a service job to do!

SOURCE: Brother MFC-240C

This is a common problem with this model. I usually occurs after a jam in which when removing the jam your fingers go too far under the cover towards the front and dislodge the encoder strip. Its the strip that sits just above the carriage and tells its location (ie where to print). 30 is obstruction of the carriage and the 50 is cant find the purge station. It is an easy operation to relocate it after pulling it appart but a very dificult task while it is still together and you will probally put the machine out of alignment. An easy operation for your local service centre and it shouldn't cost too much if out of warranty. One of my favourite faults to fix as its easy as.

SOURCE: my Laser printer prints lines or streaks on every paper

The questions sound like they came out of a A+ exam.
You did not provide enough information to accurately troubleshoot your issues. The following solutions are my first assumptions based on what you've typed.

1. Clean the printer. Usually caused by dirty drum, toner cartridge, rollers. Could also be caused by faulty drum. More details to resolve better
2. Check printer for paper, check tray settings in printer defaults under printer and fax settings, if it is a special function in word such as a mailout, check printer tray settings under mailout. Also check to ensure proper paper size is specified in word.
3. When booting computer, press F8 BEFORE it gets to the Windows XP splash screen, then select "Safe mode" or "Enable VGA mode", log into windows and check your display settings for you graphics adapter. This can be found in the control panel. Try setting it to a lower resolution. Check to make sure you have the proper VGA drivers installed.
4. Floopy cable is most likely connected wrong, Open chasis and flip connector that connects to back of floppy disk drive.
5. Printers printing jibberish is usually caused by incorrect printer drivers being installed. Download printer drivers from manufacturer's website, uninstall old drivers and reinstall new drivers.
6. Lots of reasons for bad DVD burning. Uninstall/reinstall buring software. you can download a free dvd recording software from http://infrarecorder.org/. If that works, perhaps your current DVD Burning software is not compatible with Vista. May also be faulty media or drive.
7. Windows XP Installer probably doesn't have the drivers built in for your specific SATA controller. Determine the SATA chipset by looking at the card (if it is a card) or looking on the motherboard to determine the motherboard brand and model. go the the motherboards site to download newer drivers, copy to CD and during Windows XP CD boot, press F6 when prompted to specify SATA drivers from the CD. You will need to extract the drivers from a compressed state (if applicable) before burning to the CD
Failure to detect a drive can also be caused by faulty hard drive.
8. If the comptuer just reboots without warning, probable cause is bad capictors on motherboard. Open chasis and look at the cylinder towers on the motherboard. Check for tops that are beveled or seeping a thick substance. If you see beveled capictors or electrolyte coming out, the caps are bad. Unless you are an electrician, you will need to replace the board to resolve this issue.
9. Check for power on speakers, ensure speakers are plugged into proper jack on sound card, in control panel, check to ensure volume is turned up loud enough. Check the device manager to ensure sound card drivers are properly installed and there are no issues with the device.
10. Not enough info to diagnose, change your subent to 255.0.0.0 or change the IP of you computer to 146.181.23.21.

No sound after installing windows office 2007

Sounds like a driver issue. Check in your device manager. Right click on "Computer" in your start menu, select "Properties" from the pop-up menu and locate your device manager. If you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on it in your audio controllers you need the driver. See what audio device you have, Google it for the driver, or visit the Lenovo website for the driver. Download it and install it.

Which is better laptop deal?

Hi !!

Ofcourse 2.4 ghz is better than 2.1 ghz but its not a very big difference if price difference is more than 100$ than go for first one else second one is good and the most important thing i want to mention is that it all depends upon your needs you havent mention for what purpose you are going to purchase. But both are enough for gaming, daily use and for techie as well.

Hope that helps

Here is the lenovo site for the drivers for you pc. Only download and install the xp driver versions...after which you should be able to update the drivers for the devices that have the yellow color and should not have any problems installing.

You can also check the windows update site...do a custom update and search for drivers...sometimes new driver versions can be downloaded that way.

Hope this helps
