Okay, fair enough. The needle does not appear to be bent. Neither the upper or lower threads are jammed. And not the machine will not sew. Horrible grinding noise and the balance wheel is locked and won't budge an inch. I bought this machine for my Mother's birthday in October. This is only the 3rd time we've used it!
It is under warantee for 12 months, so I would recommend you phone the dealer to arrange for them to have a look at it.....if you have any samples of sewing, take them too.
My SE 270D makes a loud knocking noise and the needle is bending and breaking the safety device came on and the bobbin spring that holds the bobbin in place will move you can pick it up and the bobbin will not stay still when you move the wheel can anyone tell me if that piece would be broke and is it expensive

I am using this machine for the first time and trying to wind the bobbin. each time I press start it tells me the safety device has been activated.Nothing is jammed because it has never been used. Please help
horrible grinding noise safety light conmes on material gets pulled into needle opening i changed the needle . rethreaded upper and bobboin threads cleaned out bobbin casing changed bobbin i only had it 2 weeks
safety device activated terrible knocking sound
My machine also desplayed the same message. I figured that if it was just thread I would remove it myself. I opened up my machine. It was not thread. There is an arm that operates the needle going up and down. It is made of aluminium and there is a steel shaft that turns inside of it. That is what has froze up on my machine and this is my second machine to do the same thing.
mine is also locked ,Help please! What can I do to repair this?
i also have the same problem
having the same problems...help???
I am having the same issue! I have taen my whole machine apart and I cannot figure it out to save my life! UGHHH!!
I have a brother LB-6800, I had the same error message and I only used mine four times , the second time I used it the bobbin holder broke, so i replaced it, with that being said, when i got my error message I unpluged it , removed the two screws holding the bottom case ( they are two differnt sizes so dont get them confused with the other) and I shook it while holding it upside down, a little piece of plastic , and I mean just a tiny piece of plastic fell to the floor, I carefully put it back together and no more jam and no more error message. Im back to my sewing again. so it could be something tiny has jammed that metal case that holds the bobbin case, well hope this helps someone.
