If not a USB model, you have to get the disgustingly expensive Babylock palette box ($500) and software with the blank card to transfer the designs from cd or files. Beware of making the embroidery too small, it can make the stitch density too great and then the machine cannot sew the design. There is software called Density Works to deal with this problem.

For some reason your model has vanished from the support pages!

Check all the plugs, and there might be a small glass fuse on the control board, but getting to it might be an issue.

Hi! I am planning to buy a babylock machine. iread about, but I still don,t know what to buy between Sofia 2 and Ellure Plus.

Looking at the babylock.com website the Ellure Plus has more stitches although they are both machine embroidery machines. The Ellure Plus has a larger embroidery field than the Sofia though so this may well clinch it, 4" x 4" versus 5" x 7", I know I would go for the larger embroidery field so I didn't need to reset the hoop.

I guess though it comes down to price and will you use all the extra features of the Ellure Plus. If you are mainly doing clothing and home dec then you really don't need the embroidery features at all, its a personal preference though.

Have you been in for a demonstration and used both machines yourself? Sometimes the little things will crystilise the decision for you. Look at ease of threading up, lighting in the sewing area, size of the free arm and how easy it is to program and set up the embroidery functions. Then decide if the extra cost is worth it, sometimes its better to spend more now and not outgrow the machine's functions, but you know what your sewing needs are so its something you have to weigh up.

I have a fairly new Baby Lock Ellure Plus and when I try to embroider with a downloaded pattern, my machine does not want to recognize the pattern. I am not real comfortable doing this yet, so just...

Hi Lisa, I have the same machine. When I had that problem I was told that the design I was trying to do was to large for the machine. Basically it needs to be about a 5" x 7" design. When I put a smaller design in the machine was able to read it. Hope this helps! I'm still learning too.

Embroidery card not working

I have definitely had this problem It just means that your orientation of the embroidery hoop is not correct when you load in the design.  I learned this through so much grief.  I knew the design was not too big for the card becasue it tells you the size when you do the design.  I did go buy a new card!   And the same thing happened.  Write back if you a step by step instruction.

I can not get my designs i downloaded off line on to my baby lock

You have to have an Amazing Box or similar device and a blank memory card. You hook the Amazing Box up to your computer, put the memory card in it, and transfer the designs onto the card that way. Then you use the card in your machine like any other embroidery card.

Start up..Babylock BMP6

Not if you just want to get the patterns off the internet, etc., you cannot, or at least with my older version, make your own designs. You need to download the program to your computer. Its pretty simple if you get on the internet and download the designs put your palette on your computer, go to the designs, with a blank card, and load the patterns. Hope this makes sense.
