BMW 330i 2003 model... Recently, the alarm has been going off sporadically... doesn't always happen and doesn't happen at night.... Any ideas? Alternately, how can I disarm the system until I get it fixed

I would recommend checking the hood switch. Raise the hood and lock on the left or right strut tower area. You should see a small switch with a rod that sticks up.try disconnecting the switch and see if the problem goes away.If not you have an interior sensor on the headliner under a trim cover. The cover is clipped on.pull the cover down and try disconnecting the sensor to see if it fixes it.

BMW ANTI THEFT SYSTEM WILL NOT DISARM

the easiest way to fix this problem is to remove all wires for the alarm as alarms always cause more problmes than they actually protect. You must locate the alarm computer it can be anywhere underneath your dash under the seat in the engine bay it will say alarm or the brand on it locate it and un clip than your done or have it serviced so that they will cut the wire also called the kill switch to your alarm it will still function but this pesky problem will go away

Alarm keeps going off at night

I don't know the exact reason, but my dad had a problem similar to yours. He got a device from Ace Hardware (it was a decoding mechanism I believe) that you hook up to your car (on his car, which was an Oldsmobile, it was on the left interior of the driver's side door rite up by the steering wheel area) for only about $15-$20 because his engine light was always going off for no reason. Yours may have something to do with a faulty wire somewhere along where the alarm is, though. The decoder doesn't exactly let you know precisely what the problem is though (I believe it has a manual though), and my dad is a mechanic, so be careful before you try anything yourself, as you may do more harm than good. Good luck.
