The motorola logo is all that you can see on the external display weither it's close or open
before it displays the battery status, time, screen saver, etc
but now it's just the moto logo

Remove the battery, wait ten minutes and put it back.
Try also removing the sim, try a different one if you have it.
If you have a memory card start it without the card inside.
Try also the following procedure:
"press and hold the * # andpower button all at the same time until you see text come up on thescreen. If you get the text on the screen, pull the battery out, pressthe power button three or four times to discharge the phone completelyand then try the battery again and hold the power button for 8 secondsor until the blue in the kaypad gives a slight flash dim"
