Manual feed won't grab paper

If the printer works good when it prints the envelopes/label one by one, I think it works normal (because the paper is not a standard paper).
tip

How to determine the formula of ribbon you need

Not all thermal transfer ribbon formulas print on all materials, the key is to match the label material with the proper ribbon. There are three main types of ribbon formulations used in most thermal printers.
Wax -
  • the least expensive
  • works best on thermal transfer paper labels (it may print on the other materials to some degree but will easily scratch off)
  • looks the darkest (more opaque) when unrolled and held in front of a light

Wax / Resin
  • this is a very wide ranging category, some formulas are the same price as wax, others can be almost the same price as resin
  • works best on thermal transfer labels paper, preprinted thermal transfer labels, and many polypropylene materials

Resin
  • the most expensive
  • the most durable
  • is UL approved when matched with a compatible material
  • works best on polyester and polyolefin
  • looks the lightest (more translucent) when unrolled and held in front of a light

Z4MPLUS doesn't recognize the MEDIA(LABEL) automatically.

you should recalibt=rate the printer.
Are you sure that your previous label was not longer?
With the autocalibrate function activated the printer should try to detect the correct length. If it doesn't the yoou have
- A problem with the label border
- Preprinted stuff which the printer detects as to fo feed

We are using the Zebra 170XilllPlus printer for printing rolls of labels which they have some preprinted portions on them. However, after we printed the first label of a roll successfully the next and all...

Make sure the pause light is on and press calibrate. See if this calibration solves the problem. If not align the media sensors (top and bottom) to a position that is aligned with the least amount of preprinted data and calibrate again. Print configuration Power on while holding cancel key for 10 seconds. Use the config to help troubleshoot. Make sure the sensor type matches the media. Download user manual at zebra.com.

Paper jam error message

This problem is a detection problem, due to a bad sensor selection or incorrect label size.

If the labels are white labels with a separation between each, select TRANSMISSIVE. If the labels are preprinted, select the TRANSMISSIVE PREPRINTED LABELS and set the threshold doing this.

With the printer in ONLINE, press PAUSE once, the message PAUSE appears in the display, press and hold on the PAUSE key, TRANSMISSIVE is displayed, release the key and press PAUSE until labels starts to feed, let feed some labels (5 or 6) and release the key. Press Restart and start to print.

PAPER JAM

Paper jam on this printer have several causes:
- The size of the label is not correct (The legth mainly)
- The type of Sensor is not correct.
Transmissive or reflective.
- You are using preprinted labels which affects the detection.
To solve this you have to callibrate the sensors for the preprints. Check your manual or contact us.
- there mays not enough contrast between the liner and the labels. You must check the sensors
- Check if the sensors are correctly aligned. You may misaligne the top and the bottom sensors

Im getting paper jam printing on a toshiba bsx5

Check your label size, type of sensor and try to recallibrate the printer. In case of preprinted labels do as in the owners manual for preprints and select this function in the driver.
