How do I download pics from my camera, a canon powershot g7?
Was sucessful with windows xp, without the software;
but, unresponsive from camera to computer.
Even the camera guys from whom I purchased my canon didn't realize this one; there's a small button on the top left of this camera they don't indicate for downloading pics; that's all! regards, dzed

I searched the support site of Canon.com for your G7 camera, and it didn't list anything on 3 pages under the search terms 'large video files error.'
If this were happening to me, I would uninstall completely the software that came with the camera, and reinstall the latest drivers and software from the canon.com website.
Afetr you plug your camera into your PC using USB Cable, can you transfer the images via my computer and selecting the camera from the devices with removal storage under the drives lists?
You may have accidently removed the photo programs you were using. Check to see if the software programs are indeed still on your computer by searching by name. If it or they are there , open one of the programs before you connect the camera and it should automatically download.
If they have been removed use the disc that came with your camera to reload the software program.
Check on the CD software you received with your camera whether it support the Win Xp OS.
In case it doesn't support your OS, go to the Canon web site and download to your PC the relevant drivers for your camera and OS.
Good luck !
