There was already one E74 error report with halo reach beta, I just got the E74 with one light today around 3pm after playing the last game of halo reach beta. Did any one else get the E74 error with the halo reach beta?

As you have mentioned that you got a E74 error problem which you got fixed up, E74 problem is a hardware related issue so the problem you are now facing is linked to a messed up dvd rom firmware issue.

It is very much possible that post you have fixed E74 problem your dvd-rom firmware could have gone corrupt and now is not recognizing the game discs and only playing dvd's

It would be advisable to send your unit to MS support if in case it is under warranty

you need to change the cd

It is because The hard drive is spoil if u remove the Hard drive and blow to the hard drive the red light will not come

you are seeing one red light on the powerbutton and E74 on the screen?

E74 can only be caused by either the HDD or the console itself,so you might wanna try using a different HDD with your console, if the issue still persists, then most probably, the console is having a hardware failure,there is a possibility that the HDD PORT is not properly woking w/c is causing the e74 error.

if thats the case, try calling xbox support hotline(1-800-4-MYXBOX) to process a repair for the console,it will be free,because Microsoft is extending the warranty of the consoles for 3yrs from the date of purchase for e74 and 3red light issues.

the odds are very good... The error is caused when there's a problem with video, either because the A/V cable used is broken, or what's even worse, when Ana, the Xbox 360 hardware scaler chip is damaged. Also try this take the AV cable, plug it out and plug it in, if it still doesn't work unplug it, wipe the metal part with a soft cloth then plug it in. That might help.But i bet you will end up sending it off again.

If changing the cable doesnt work then you will need to get it fixed by Microsoft

Hi this sounds like what happened to mine and also started with Halo 3 now it happens with all my games. Eventually you will get a red light flashing its the E74 error and will have to be sent to microsoft. The E74 error is a problem with either the AV port the Graphics chip or the AV cable itself

this sounds like the e74 error ,these dots will make the screen fuzzy like cod 4 and 5 its the video chip thats near the av cable slot need service and can result to one ring of death aka e74 error.
