Honda engines usually start easily.
If the engine starts and runs smoothly the problem is probably with the recoil starter - some designs can accumulate wear and detritus that can cause considerable friction and sometimes need taking apart for examination, cleaning and lubricating. Any worn parts should be replaced and pay particular attention to the ferrule the rope passes through and if worn should be replaced.
The recoil spring can become gummy also adding to the force needed for starting. Removing it very carefully (because they can easily fly and bite) and wash it in a little petrol or similar and dry it thoroughly.
Lubricating the spring is a sort of damned if you do and damned if you don't situation - lubricating the spring reduces friction and helps stop corrosion but does trap more dust and grit.
Light machine oil is good but a little dry colloidal graphite is better. I find a silicone spray is satisfactory, though repeat spraying is needed regularly including the rope...
Besides spring streaches out over time or one rope breaks. Their are like three spots to hook spring to get tension for door. I just replaces both ropes as one broke and hooked springs in middle hole. Takes more time to pull washer out then to replace the ropes
sound to me you got faulty security switch check them 1st, specially the kick stand, most bike locks up if you try to place it in gears while the kick stand is still on. hope it helps
There is no trick, you would just use a torx screw driver. If your spring isn't broken don't do this. If your rope is broken you can fix easily. Replace old rope with new rope of equal size, place rope into spring wheel and turn counter clock wise holding the spring wheel. place other end of rope thru hole in shroud, remember to hold tight you have a lot of tension there. Pull rope thru enough to tie a knot, replace your pull handle , untie the knot and you should be fine. GOOD LUCK.
There are no special tools required, with the pulley still connected its just a matter off threading the knotted rope through the starter pulley hole, hold the rope on the side of the pulley and turn the pulley to wind up the spring, allow the pulley to unwind pulling the rope in, with the rope fully extended make sure you still have at least half a turn left on the pulley, this will stop the spring coil binding.
You will need a mechanic to put the spring back on as it is brute force that does the trick. Running a rope through the end - and having an elephant back up and stretch it on the hood is close to what needs to be done. Let a pro do it as this can be injury dangerous.
There should be a mount inside the casing and another one on the starter rope socket. Wind all but a foot or so of your pull rope onto the sprocket then mount the spring on the mount in the casing. Don't worry about winding the spring yet. After that attack the spring to the sprocket. There should be a notch cut in the edge of the sprocket. Lay the rope in the notch and then place the spocket back into the case. With the rope in the notch you can then start winding up the spring taking the twists out of the rope as you do it. Depending on the length of your rope you'll probably need 5 or 6 turns of the sprocket. Once you get it wound then position the notch where the pull rope exits the housing. Grap the rope handle and pull the excess rope until it is all in the sprocket or outside the case and no longer in the notch. There might be some retainers for the sprocket. I"m not that familiar with Poulan. Secure these if there are some and put the housing back onto the saw and you should be good to go.
there are two nylon ropes that hook the door hinges to the door springs on the left and right side of the dishwasher.usually with time of rope breaks and the door stars to fall down.to fix this pull the unit out and look for the broken rope on both sides of unit at the botom.the new ropes comes in a kit and are abt $15.00.it contains two ropes and new wheel assly.u dont realyy have 2 chge wheels unless they are broken.but chg both ropes.to get rid of that squeeky noise aplly some bearing grease on the rollers over which the rope slides.that will take care of it.
to fix starter rope first you must wind spring and place back in housing. just grab spring by middle and wind ,you will have to get it smaller than housing hole. One end should hook to a tab at housing rest of it sets inside itself. once set in housing dont let go, insert rope housing over top & screw in. rope housing should have some return spring to it when pulled. if rope is not tight on return pull simply add one winding to spool. hope it helps!
