Did you reset the counter?
After you replace the imaging drum, you should reset the imaging drum's counter. To reset the counter, press and hold the Cancel button I replaced the Imaging Durm, but the light is - cancel_button_0.jpg until all lights flash in sequence.

I hope this helps.

    Contact Dell support.http://support.dell.com/ .

I wish that I could be of more help. It sounds like something on the main board is bad. (Since a good drum from another printer had the same error.)

Problem with Dell 1720 printer

Hello

You have to check couple things in this case.

Ensure that the printer cover is closed.
  1. Remove the toner cartridge.
  2. Firmly shake it side-to-side and front-to-back several times to redistribute the toner.
  3. Reinsert the toner cartridge, and continue printing.
Repeat this procedure multiple times until the print remains faded. When the print remains faded, replace the toner cartridge.

Dell 1720 flashinf replace drum- error.

The second link was the helpful information. Also, to cut through all of that --

If you need to reset the counter:

1. Remove drum kit with toner

2. Make sure all print jobs are flushed otherwise whatever has been sent and not printed will come spewing out.

3. Hold down CANCEL Button until all lights flash through.

4. Slide the drum kit and toner properly into the Printer.

done.

Dell 1720dn has gray streaks in printing

That green drum is the imaging drum, and it needs to be replaced. You can purchase directly from dell:

After-market replacements are available as well from a number of online sellers. A search on Google will provide many links.

Dell 1720dn Error and Toner light on

After replacing the drum unit you have to tell the printer that you've done it(it's not smart enough to figure it out itself). Have the front door open and press and hold the Cancel button on the printer until all lights flash in sequence then let go. Then close door and try.
