Question about Sony Televison & Video
This problem can also occur when Sony brings down their servers for maintenance. In my case it was NOT a NetFix problem.
This happened to me at 7:00pm Pacific time, which is a really bad time to take down a server for maintenance. I did get through to technical support with minimal delay. Support was no help, other than to confirm that the service was down. So it was not an account or BluRay player problem. Just wait 2-3 hours and the service will come back.
I was also told that the servers com down for maintenance about twice a month!
The tech support number is: 239-768-7547. I recommend calling early and often. If customer frustration is registered frequently enough, Sony may elect to deploy redundant servers so they can do maintenance with out shutting down the service for all of their customers.

I contacted SONY and they told me it ment the netflix service was not available at this time.

I think the problem is that the Netflix servers are overloaded. When I get this error message using my wireless Sony media player device, the problem is limited to Netflix. The other services that I can access through my media player work just fine. Usually, when I get this message, its just a short matter of time before I can get the show I want. All of my experiences with it suggest a Netflix capacity issue.

This solution worked for me.
I de-activated and re-activated netflix.
On DVD Player: 1. Select Netflix (to get to the instant queue menu)
2. Press options on your remote(to bring up sidebar) 3. Select Deactivate Netflix 4. Select Yes (to deactivate) 5. Select Return (to video menu) 6. Select Netflix (to get activation code). On Computer: 1. Go to www.netflix.com 2. Select "instantly to your TV" on Watch Instantly tab 3. Select "How to get started" 4. Select "Activate you Device" 5. Enter activation code. Step 1 might be problematic. In my case I had to retry severals times before I got into the Instant queue menu successfully. Powering down and powering up the player might help.

I get this a lot now. I think Sony is limiting Netflix viewing. The truth will come out soon...

Well the only way I could find and this is per SONY and per NETFLIX, is to deactivate the device and reactivate the device.
