Your Rainbow E series has lost suction power, because you need a new hepa filter, ot your water basin gasket is messed up, or the center motor gasket is messed up or out of position.

Make sure your water basin is not cracked or broken, also.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,
Ralph

Theexpertman... How would I tell what's what? I am deads broke and cannot offer a repair! I checked the basin, it's not cracked. It worked perfect last week. Where is the hepa filter? Maybe I can check that

Hi again, as long as you have an E or E2 Rainbow vacuum, which you can see your model information at the bottom of your vacuum canister, where the water pan attaches to it, you will see the model information on the bottom of your canister, by the separator. That separator should be cleaned after every use or so. A tooth brush is perfect for a separator cleaner, and is just like a Rainbow separator cleaning brush.

Uf you have the early E seroes, which is model E-2 there are two screws on the botom of the filter cover, which is that rectangular plastic cover that is where the exhaust blows out of your vacuum canister, and there are also two screws underneeth the little slip out cord holder tabs branket, that snaps off. There is a little slot on the sides of it, for sticking a screw driver in to snap it off. You will see the other two filter cover screws, when you snal off the plastic cord holder tabs bracket.

If you have any more questions, let me know. If you need anything, let me know that also. I am a Rainbow expert, and also a Rainbow seller, as well. I will fix you up with anything that you need, and want, also. Ok :-)

Hi again, One other thing, is that if you have any other E or E2 series other than the early E series, the filter cover snaps on and off, with two plastic clip tabs on the bottom of it.

If you wash it, only rince it with clean water, and allow it to dry thouroughly before reinstalling it. It could take a Week or longer to dry. If you do not allow it to completely dry before reinstalling it, it will be destroyed when you turn your vacuum on, if it is still wet, from the vacuum pressure blowing through the wet gepa paper filter material.

If you need anything els, you be sure and let me know. Ok :-)

You have a very great New Year, Ok :-)

I just removed a box with what seem to be a white filter inside. Do I rinse it with filter inside or is there a way to get filter out

  • Tammy Servin Dec 05, 2018

I mistakenly caught the end of my sheet, it pulled it up, till I turned it off, now no suction

  • Doris Wittkamm Jan 17, 2019

Do not rinse the filter. It will not ever be the same and you will risk mold problems. They should last between 8-10 years under normal use.

Rainbow vacuum cleaner is not working but the carpet shampooer works. Is there some way to check to see if the vacuum cleaner is clogged?

SOURCE: remove suction motor on rainbow vacuum

Take off the water tank, remove the screw, should be four, that will separate the 2 pieces, remove the rubber seal, remove the screws, 8 If I remember, disconnect the wires to the motor, it should pull out. Replace motor, hook up the wires, screw it back together, glue the water seal back on.

SOURCE: weak suction on rainbow se vacuum

With years of use, you will collect a layer of "micro dust" on the impeller (the fan part) which reduces the efficiency. A toothbrush and some mild cleaner with gently scrubbing will restore it's power.
The impeller is that parts that spins that you can see when you take the top off to fill the water tank.
Hope this is the answer that you need!

SOURCE: Rainbow E Series Suction Problem

Being an E series some have a corrgated filter in the top, there is also a filter on the back. Could be a motor problem, not turning as fast as it should, in which case you will have to replace the motor. You might check, some had a 10 year warranty on the motor. If you are the original owner and only have had it 5 years, then it may be covered.

My rainboe has no suction

The hose could be clogged. Check the suction on the main unit without any hoses connected. If that seems good, then connect a hose and check suction again at the end of hose. If suction is still good and you are having issues when using the power nozzle, then open up the bottom of the power nozzle to check for clog.

I have a model DC3 rainbow thar has lost suction. what can i do to fix it

Check suction at intake without any hose connected. If that is good, then connect hose and check suction again. If that is poor, then you have a clog. If still good, then check power nozzle by getting into the belt area.

Shampooer will not work on my e2 Rainbow. Help!

Your Rainbow E series has lost suction power, because you need a new hepa filter, or your water basin gasket is messed up, or the center motor gasket is messed up or out of position.

Make sure your water basin is not cracked or broken, also.
If it is an earlier model, everything applies, except for the filter. They do not have filters, on any of the earlier models.

If you have any more questions let me know. I am a Rainbow seller, and a Rainbow expert also.

Thank you,

Rainbow vacuum-water not spinning

Remove hose and turn on the unit with nothing on the intake - see if it helps - feel the suction with hand.

a) If it works fine without the hose - look for a clog in the hose, wand or the nozzle

b) If the suction is weak even without the hose:
Clean the separator,
If this is e-series or E2 Rainbow - remove HEPA and try vacuuming without it (sometimes it is too dirty so stops good airflow). New HEPAs HERE.
If this is SE Rainbow - remove exhaust cap and if there is a sponge - take it out

Still no luck - It has to be serviced

Good Luck,
Rocky

Suction paower

First thing is to check all your hoses, and filters. Filters rob your vacuum of air flow which equals power.. I don't think that you have a clog so much as I am inclined to think that you have dirty filters. In a wet vac, you can rinse your filters out, but they will eventually need replaced. It's a good idea to have an extra filter around for such an instance.
