I don't have a diagram or the part numbers to the minor and major repair kits, but a Stihl dealer should be able to help. Tell him you need a kit for a ZAMA C1Q type carb. The exploded view should be with the kit.

If you're looking for parts or diagrams for any Zama carburetor go to www.zamacarb.com from there click on the tab for parts and service, then you should be able to look up the model of the carburetor.
Alternately, if the carburetor is walbro, you can go to walbro.Com and look up the parts diagram from there as well.

Carburetor needs kit

That particular saw came with one of four different carburetors. Luckily they were all Zamas and they all appear to use the same rebuild kit, the RB-69. The cross reference doesn't cover the S108J version but it should the same as the original S108.

Carburetor listed in IPL are CIQ-S32, CIQ-S61, C1Q-S61D and the C1Q-108J. To verify which carburetor you have the model number are imprinted on the carburetor body.

Troubleshooting chainsaw

Chain saw and other small engines are particularly susceptible to problems caused by stale fuel containing ethanol. Always use ethanol free fuel or add a fuel stabilizer if the saw will sit for more than a month. If you spray engine starter (ether) in the carburetor and it runs briefly, the carburetor is probably gummed up. You can possibly rebuild the carburetor, but you need the precise model of rebuild kit matched to the number on the carburetor. It's often more cost efficient to replace the carburetor, an easy job. Stihl and other manufacturers have so much trouble with this issue, that they have dropped the price of replacement carburetors to about $50.

Another way to avoid this problem in the future is to drain the gas tank and run the saw until the carburetor is completely empty before storing it.

A less likely problem is a clogged muffler if you have been running a fuel mixture with too much oil or an inferior brand of oil.

I need a fuel hose diagram for a stihl model 028 wb chain saw.

Stihl IPLs (exploded parts list) are propriatary, You can request one here: The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but on multiple illustrations.

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, an output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs to help with reassembly. HTH
