Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
1) You need to configure your Mac (the one connected to your modem) to share its Internet connectivity with other wireless devices. To do this, select System Preferences from the Apple menu, and then click on Sharing.
2) In the Sharing window, click on the Internet tab to bring up Internet Sharing. Select Built-in Ethernet from the Share your connection menu. Then, select Airport in the To computers using list
3) Click on the Airport Option button to configure some wireless security options. You Only want to be sharing your wireless connection with Your Other computer. Enter a Network Name, select channel as Automatic, and enable encryption and enter a WEP password, which will be required to join your new wireless network. now click on Ok
4) Now your mac is acting a wireless router just connect to your network from other computers and enter the WEP key when it ask for it.
You found this to be an excellent solution when you don’t have a wireless router, but would like occasional wireless access in your home or small office.
