ADF Motor Assembly has gears which crack. Replacement of ADF Motor Assembly normally required. Compass Micro Inc sells this part. Part #: 2132225.

Epson 837 printer error

OK, often when removing a paper jam this can happen:

1) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can leave behind a small piece or loosen up another small piece from a previous jam. This piece can then become the 'new' jam by clogging the jam sensor or switch. Use a small flashlight to look done the previous jammed area to see if this is the case.

2) - when pulling the jammed paper out you can 'mis align' or damage the jam sensor (or switch) so that it always registers a jam. this fix may require a technician or repair shop to fix.

I have a brand new 800 Epson printer, when I turned it on for the first time it keeps saying jammed paper and I haven't even put paper in it yet

I suggest you return it to the shop and ask for a replacement printer as it is covered by warranty. Do not try to fix it because you most likely will void your warranty.

ADF wont feed the paper through the printer

You can load up to 30 sheets of plain paper in the Artisan 800 ADF. If the ADF doesn't feed the paper, check the following.

1. Make sure that you are loading plain paper only without a holes. 3-hole punched paper is not supported by this printer.

2. Load paper not exceed 30 sheets.

3. Open the ADF and check for any jammed paper or foreign object that is blocking the paper feeding path.

4. Check if the BIG GREEN ADF indicator is lit when you load paper in the ADF.

If the issue persists, your printer will require service. You can contact the Epson for warranty if your printer still under warranty. If your warranty expires, look for an a service center that can repair your printer.

The ADF jams every time on the first sheet. seems like it is just not feeding the document all the way through. what can be done?

Try opening up the LEFT side of the ADF. Takes a little finger muscle to do this. Clean the rollers with a clean cloth, and check to see that there is nothing lodged in the mechanism (staples, loose paper bits, mother-in-laws, etc). Also, there is a limit to how many sheets the ADF can take at once - I haven't maxed mine out, so I don't know how many sheets is the maximum allowed.

Hope this helps

Epson Artisan 800 ADF jams ever time. THere is no paper in it and I've unplugged it and restarted it multiple time. Havn't had it that long. 1 year or maybe a bit more.

There are two gears that are made of plastic that have hard rubber toothed sprockets pressed on them. These sprockets split and allow the drive motor to slip. Epson will only sell the motor assembly and not just the gear. I used a dot of supperglue to repair the sprockets and all works fine now.

Epson 800 adf repeatedly jams. After clearing it still jams.

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I have a epson artisan 800 I'm tring to fax from the automatic feeder but it keeps making a grinding sound and then it says paper jam but paper never even went through

I took apart my artison 800 with 'paper jam' error and grinding noise. Sadly enough, it is the plastic gear attached to the stepper motor which is slipping and making the grinding noise. I tried to glue it and it worked once or twice and failed again. It is a design flaw and Epson should repair this for free if they are honest about this problem. Ir is not a user-caused problem.
