If the maps are on an sd card you may be able to put tom tom on but as for updates myguide no longer exist and so don't provide updates. Mine still works fine and any roads that have been built that don't appear on the sat nav i have managed anyway.

Could be a satellite acquisition problem, mount your GPS in a window area or use an external antenna.

Some sat-navs have this feature as a power saving option, try looking through the menu to see if there is something like turn screen off

Problem solved.
Electrician friend came round, told him of problem,all he did was to turn
it over and usinig a small screwdriver pushed the reset button and it fired up alright.was told by retailer that reset would only set unit back to
factory settings.

if its legit then it's faulty so take it back to the supplier

need to change my gps tom tom 3rd edition in english
