What is happening to your laptop is the power line connecting a row of pixels is failing so only partial colors are showing up causing the vertical line. Usually screen replacement is the only answer to fix it. You can usually find replacement LCD on Ebay.

there is already a problem with the video card.. for most laptop, they have built in video cards.. so you need to have your laptop checked by a computer technician.. or it would be best to bring it to the manufacturer, so they can install the right drivers for the video card after being fixed..

Same with you i have may experience also regarding a color lines in my laptop monitor, so what i did is that i find a computer shop in my area and i let my laptop checked with their technician and ask what is the problem of my laptop then the technician explained to me what are the causes of those lines and then they fix it for me. So i just wait for 30 minutes then my laptop is back to its original condition.
So my recommendation: please find a computer shop in you place and let them check and fixed the problem.

Everything can be fixed.

Try hooking up your laptop to an external monitor. If you get lines then the problem is the video card.

If not, it's the lcd, usually it is anyways.

Just replace the lcd and your problem is gone.

If you hav enot changed any software on the pc (like the drivers or new video software) the video controller may be bad an need replacement. If you are not familiar with doing it, try a repair shop, it may be more close to the cost of / or more expensive than replacing the laptop.

Did you try lately to go to your display settings and change your screen refresh rate ?
