I left water in the steam mop and now the steam is not coming out. Is there anyway to fix this?

If they sit to long the heads get clogged, the minerals in the water that you use harden and create clogs-no joke. you can try using CLR and if that doesnt work i found a site where i bought a couple heads from BNTPrice
My wife has the S3501 model shark steam mop. It was working fine when put away, then when used 3 weeks later, NO STEAM !!! Unit is 1 1/2 years old, used about every 3 weeks on a saturday to steam the kitchen counter tops, table, then the floors. I took it apart and found that the hoses were pulled so tight and had no "slack" that the ends split and when you pushed the handle (pumped it) for steam, it was dribbling the water out the cracked hose ends.... thus NO water was being pushed into the heater to create steam for the cleaning pad. The fix is to replace the small hose inside and make it more longer so the ends don't kink and split / break. I am heading to an appliance parts store tomorrow to see if they can order me 3 feet of this type of hose - a white silicone looking hose, not black rubber, and my guess is that it must be some type of hose to withstand hot steam. And yes, DO USE distilled water, tap water was used in ours, and I can see calcium white deposits in the heater and in the vent holes - remember - DISTILLED WATER !!!!

SOURCE: Shark Steam Mop - Gray/ Purple Vacuum: shark steam mop has water, but there is no steam....
I tried running vinegar through as you would a coffee pot to get rid of hard water scales. This did not work. Then I noticed that the light behind the shark decal on the front of the machine was going off and on. And sure enough as I moved the cord around the light would come off and on. Looking closer I could see the the heat had melted thru some of the cord.I bought mine at Target before xmas last year, throwing away the sales slip after several months so I guess there is nothing I can do about it.
