Help! Hi There, Hoping you can help with my problem. We had our video camera serviced 12 months ago. When we record everything is ok. When I playback the recording there are lines throughout the video. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards Angela

Someone here recommended on another post to put the lense cap on & videotape the blackness in a quiet room for 5-10 mins. I tried this as a last resort & it worked. When I played back the tape, no more skipping or gray lines. I had 4-5 SOLID gray lines with skipping video & audio in between on every tape I put in. I think the person who helped me solve this said that it was a result of the tape alignment going off.

5 gray lines: Canon ZR90 Fix! This works! Thanks merowe637 I love the internet. Hey Canon, give this solution to your customers. Don't tell them they need to buy a new camera. That's just bad business in my opinion.

I have a Yashica,Samurai Video 8 KX-77 Video Camera Recorder when I playback the picture rolls what can I do ?

If you are experiencing issues with the playback on your Yashica Samurai Video 8 KX-77 Video Camera Recorder, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Clean the playback heads: Use a head-cleaning cassette or a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the playback heads. Dirty heads can cause playback issues and poor picture quality.
  2. Check the tapes: Ensure that the video tapes you are trying to play are in good condition and not damaged. Inspect the tape for any signs of damage or deformation that could affect playback. If the tapes are damaged, you may need to try a different tape or have the damaged tapes repaired.
  3. Adjust the tracking: Use the tracking control on the camera recorder to adjust the playback tracking. The tracking control helps align the playback heads with the tape tracks for optimal playback quality. Experiment with adjusting the tracking to see if it improves the picture quality.
  4. Test with different tapes: If possible, try playing different video tapes to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is specific to certain tapes or if it is a broader issue with the camera recorder itself.
  5. Seek professional service: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek professional repair or servicing for the camera recorder. Contact a reputable camera repair shop or the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.

No playback pics. Blue screen. Can't record.Used x2 since service.

I just made contact with a service tech who seems very competent and who won me over. Have problem with video and audio dropout similiar to dirty heads on a 10 year old DCR-VX2000 but which is a larger problem attributed to worn parts which will need replacement. Do not know how old your unit is, but will share name of person/company if you wish. Only thing that worries me is if you by chance had had yours repaired by them!!! They are a Southern California company.

Tapes won't Playback in other deivice

Hello! If the recorded tapes playback ok on the camera and not ok on another devices, you need to readjust the playback on this camera using a tape which playbacks fine on the other devices. This means that is a small difference on the tape transport. So when the supply and takeup post rollers readjusted and the audio and video playback are good, then your camera is fine.

Playback problems - timer stays at zero

Firewire transfer problem with PV-GS320. HAd bought the PV-GS90 and ran into significant transfer issues importing to Mac (iMovie and Fincal Cut Express HD both had problems). Upgraded to GS320 as Macworld rated it highly. Same problems: video plays back perfectly with no computer connection. once connected, video and audio stutter, go out of sync, sometimes just stop and/or crash the program.

I've used a borrowed Canon GL with this Mac before with no issues, so I suspect the camera. Have tried reset button, trashing preferences, restarts, the works. still can't get clean video to transfer from a brand new camera. Any Ideas?
