Have a Model A1199 Nano. Lost my apple software

As far as I can make out the model A1199 is an ipod nano and you will be able to pick up a manual for it at http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipod Hope this helps.

try pressing the reset button on the ipod. if it still freezes, the ipod has problems

I have the Ipod nano 8g and the screen lights up but but get no menu and can't play anything.. I just go this ipod.

May be electrical, but try the soft recovery methods first:
Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If
one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page 50.

Apple's website has all drivers, software, firmware - just enter in your model number
