I am thinking you can connect with a 3.5 m m. Jack, with left right input jacks connected to it. Going to give it a try. Also might try the phone the same way.
If it were a FORD radio... I would suggest tht you rplace the illumination bulb....
But , I have had JVC stereos that have done this to me ... and so I am suggesting that you check the ground wire... as it is most likely the problem here...
