If you are sure its not a stain. then its a dead pixel on your monitor.. sooner or later it will spread out. To be sure if its a dead pixel, run your monitor in different colors, black screen, green, red and blue.. If the spots stays then its dead pixel.. You will be replacing the lcd when time comes that it spreads out.

How do I clean the LCD/LED screen without smudging or leaving a water mark

Hi Herkandjen,
Most TV companies recommend only a dry cotton cloth for cleaning the LCD screens. My personal experience is that using a mildly moist clean cotton cloth is the best thing for this purpose. For tough oily marks MILD soap solution can also be used in place of water. Please be careful to apply only very mild pressure while cleaning. Never ever spray the screen with any kind of liquid. Because the liquid if seeped through the plastic frame can damage the electronics inside. Happy viewing.

Can I clean my ViewSonic LCD Monitor (VE510b) with water (using cloth)? Please tell me easy procedure of cleaning my ViewSonic LCD Monitor screen. email: [email protected]

Hi

Time Required:
Cleaning a flat screen (LCD) monitor usually takes less than 5 minutes Here's How:
  1. Turn off the monitor. If the screen is dark, it will be easier to see the areas that are dirty or oily.
  2. Use a dry, soft cloth and very gently wipe the screen. A great choice would be the microfiber type of cloth used to clean eyeglasses.
See Tip #1 below for kinds of cloths to avoid.
  3. If the dry cloth did not completely remove the dirt or oil, do not press harder in an attempt to scrub it off.
Pushing directly on the LCD screen can often cause pixels to burn out.
  4. If necessary, dampen the cloth with distilled water or with an equal ratio of distilled water to white vinegar.
Many companies also sell small spray bottles of special cleaner for flat screen monitors but the vinegar mixture is usually just as effective.
See Tip #2 below for products to avoid.
  5. The plastic edge that surrounds the screen can be cleaned with any multipurpose cleaner but take care to avoid contact with the screen itself.
Tips:
  1. Avoid using paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, or something like your shirt to wipe the LCD screen. These non-ultrasoft materials can scratch the screen.
  2. Avoid cleaning products that contain ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These chemicals can react with the materials that the LCD screen is made of which could yellow the screen or cause other kinds of damage.
  3. Never spray liquid directly on the LCD screen or it could run inside the monitor and cause damage.

Cleaning screen for flat screen tv

The only safe way to clean a flat screen is to use a microfiber cloth. Use the cloth alone on the television screen but if there are resistant stains lightly mist the cloth (not the television screen but the microfiber cloth) with water from a spray bottle. Try wiping across the television with the slightly dampened cloth and wiping back over it with a dry microfiber cloth. Even when the screen cleaning kits say they do not contain alcohol and that they are safe if it turns out that there was accidentally a wrong ingredient added to the mixture it is too late to do anything once it has been applied. The screen would just be messed up, and warranties don't cover that.

WOULD IT BE OK TO CLEAN THE SCREEN ON MY LG LCD SCREEN WITH DVD DISC CLEANING FLUID AND A SOFT CLOTHE

Soft dry cloth wipe frequently on LCD screen is the only way. Slightly damp cloth maybe use at your own risk of leaking water into the lcd screen and damge the tin oxide(turn black).
