That sounds like a common effect that plasma sets develpe ehen the voltage on the screen driver is set out of spec, or the plasma screen assy is going bad, 90% of the times that I have adjusted the voltage the sparkling effect came back, indicating that the plasma display is going bad. or the power supply is going bad, most of the time dried out or bad capacitors in the main power supply in the set. I wish I would have written down those capacitors values and their numbers., as I remembered I found the bad caps because the tops were swollen a little bit. not yet bad yetr but on thier way their. and if left unchecked they will blow up and causing a lot more damage to the power supply

Cracked screen & white dots appearing since the crack appeared

I have a Mitsubishi TV and had the same problem. There is a mirror that moves to control each pixel. When some of them fail to move you get the white dots. Google your problem and a company will come up(sorry forgot the name).,you can buy the new part from them and they have exact utube videos to help you do the repair. Took me about an hour. Part was around $150. Very rewarding feeling when you turn the tv back on with no white dots.Still dot free after two years

I have nec np200 and there's a lot of dots appeared on the screen. what seems to be a problem

I have 2 NP-200 projectors installed in a school which show white dots on a black background and black dots on a white background. This is caused by the DMD chip losing pixels. Only solution is to replace the chip, I'm researching now if that i an economical solution.

Many white dots appears on the screen of my benq w600 projector

Jacob, what element on the mainboard is the source of these dots? I have the same problem - it is only one dot now, but I think there will be more with time.
Also, the second question is: how do I unscrew the mainboard from benq W600+? I remoced the metal cover, unplugged all the cables, but there's something still not letting the board go.

White dot on my samsung DLP 42" screen

Hi,
white dot is from a failure in the dlp chip. it controls 1000s of tiny mirrors which help make up your pix, when the mirrors get stuck a white dot appears. over time more will pop up. Probably in the $300-$500 range to have someone repair.
