Disc downloaded & camera connected, says 'does not exist'

MANY, many tries
and the camera cannot be installed.
Continually the computer insists I do not have a camera connected to the computer.
Tried EVERY available port - even those 'working' for other 'plug in' pieces -
no luck.
This is a far cry from when I could plug in the camera and GO.

Cord & plug looks GREAT - no frays or cuts -
I doubt VERY much the cord could be 'hurt' -
but I am beginning to have my doubts about everything.

Can you help me?

How can i move photos from my GE A1250 camera to my laptop? I lost the disc, my computer does not have a slot to insert the media card...can i download software from somewhere?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

If you insist on using the USB connection, Picasa should still see your camera when you connect it.

I am trying to access clip art and am continually told that I need to be connected to the internet. I am always connected to the internet, which your program does not seem to recognize....HELP!

Broderbund is not an operating system, it is the retailer of the program you purchased.
Depending how old the software is that you installed, the download site may no longer exist nor the software supported any longer.
Find out what software you recently installed from the company and go to their website to determine if it still exists and if you are able to download a new version.

Your camera was made long before SD cards of that capacity existed. It is only designed to be compatible with a maximum 256MB SD card, as per page 46 of the user manual for your model.

Your fix is to replace the 2GB SD card with the smaller capacity model of 256MB. It's plenty for your camera anyway, as it allows you 96 shots at the highest quality setting and about 2900 at the very lowest quality setting.

You can download a user manual for free from Retrevo by clicking here.

You don't need the Olympus software.

Praktica dcz3.2s

Check this website for updated drivers.

http://www.opendrivers.com/freedownload/247962/praktica-dcz-3.2s-digital-camera-driver-download.html

If the problem still exists, turn off you computer, connect the camera and restart the computer.

The operating system may install kind of a generic driver to allow you to access the camera a a simpkle 'mass storage device.'
If it finds and installs drivers, the camera will appear as a 'removable disc drive' that you can access as any other drive although you may have to open nested folders to see your pictures.
