WHEN i PLUG IN THE POWER THE GREEN LIGHT BLINKS STEADY BUT WHEN I HIT THE POWER BUTTON IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING SHOULDNT IT GET A TEST SCREEN EVEN WHEN NOT HOOKED TO A
COMPUTER?
On my KDS K-9W Model 900W monitor both upper and bottom back light lamps flickered, turned pink then went out all together. Local computer shop suggested that the inverter failed. I am searching for a replacement board. I assume that it is the problem.
Mirage electronics co. part number PI-190TDLB REV A An additional number 200-000-170DTLBH

This is a common problem across many monitors, unfortunately. The problem stems from one of two things, typically.
It is either the Power Inverter board (Inverter Mirage Electronics AD-1700 Rev:F 200-000-170DTL1 VERSION:A) or a weak or dying backlight.
If
your monitor comes on for 2 seconds then you can test the backlight by
using the controls to get into the backlight brightnes settings on the
OSD and turning it WAY down.
If that dosen't work then it is
likely bad capacitors on the Power board mentioned above. If you feel
adventurous and know how to solder then you might be able to fix this
yourself. You need to be careful however because you are dealing with
high votage in there and capacitors CAN hold a charge long after you
have unpluged the unit. You can read more about this power board as
well as how to replace the bad caps HERE.
If
that's not for you then I would recomend taking it to a local TV shop
for them to fix. The parts shouldn't be more than $20, but labor can be
expensive.

It sounds like it might just be a case of the button being stuck. The ESC shouldn't turn on just from you plugging in the battery, you're supposed to have to press the button once the battery's connected to power up the ESC.
Unplug the power cord. Remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds then release. Plug the power cord back in but leave the battery out and try to turn it on now. If it comes on you can put your battery back in. If it still does not come on you may need a new power supply/ adapter.
sounds like a power issue with the monitor. try to remove and reconnect its power cord. If same thing happens, try using a confirmed working power cord like the one you use with the computer and make sure you test it out using a confirmed working power outket. If it has the same issue, would mean you need to get a replacement monitor. Refer to the vendor if it is still in warranty.
Make sure you are using the correct batteries, and that they are installed correctly. Some cameras require more powerful kinds of batteries and will not work with the cheaper kinds. A blinking light can mean something is wrong with the power, not enough or something else. If you have a power adapter or can get one, you may try that, to see if the camera will work without batteries. If it does, then some problem exists in the battery circuit.
