LG flare not recieveing text messages

Contact your service provider and let them know the issue. They will reset the text message configuration of your phone, when thats done make sure they send you a test message while you are on the phone (should come from like 333-333-3333) to make sure the issue is resolved.

Such problems occur when your message center number has been tampered with. Call your service provider to get the message center number go to message settings and check the message center in use input the correct center number and your problem is solved.

I have called Virgin mobile SO many times for almost 9 months now because of text messaging issues. I don't know if it's the phone or the crappy service (the texts aren't the only problem, to this day I have never been able to access the internet on either of the phones I have had with them). I never receive text messages anymore... On a rare occasion I'll get like 5 text messages back to back that are from days before, and then nothing again. I can never tell if the messages that I receive are actually being sent, but I know a few times people have called me frantically because my phone has sent them the same message sometimes up to 80 TIMES. The customer service reps never have a CLUE what they're talking about and they barely speak english. It is so obvious that they are literally quoting directly from the same **** that is posted on their terrible website. I cannot even bring myself to call them anymore because I am so sick of explaining EVERYTHING over again, only to get the same incredibly insulting line "we have opened an investigation into this issue and are working on fixing it". REALLY? FOR 9 MONTHS??? I am SO angry with Virgin mobile's overall terrible service that I have contacted an attorney and am in the process of taking legal action. I suggest everyone else do the same or get new service because this company is merely sitting back and stealing our money while doing absolutely nothing to improve their service.

Its probably not the phone, its your carrier network.
The network is what takes the call and what sends it to the phone,
your phone really has nothing to do with it.

some times it happens for bad server of ur network............contact ur network provider or check for smscenter number in message settings........

dear it happens some time because of n/w problem ,if it is happening many times then contact to ur service provider

If you can figure out the solution to this problem please let me know. I have tried everything and this is not the first time it's happened. My phone once sent the same text message to the same recipient over 80 times. And don't count on Virgin Mobile and their joke "trouble tickets". You will NEVER hear from them again about it. And when you call back to get help, you will have to explain the ENTIRE thing over again because apparently their customer service reps don't take adequate notes when you call them. I have had so many problems with texting on this phone it's ridiculous. Most of the time I don't get text messages from people, and then sometimes I'll get them like 4 days later but never all of them. The texts that I send will sometimes take hours or days to reach the recipient... It is a joke and it's a well-known issue that Virgin has with the LG Flare. Seems a bit strange that they would still sell it? From what I've heard the only thing you can do is call them and demand that they send you a replacement phone-- but NOT another LG Flare! I get a green arrow when I send to people.
The green arrows turns into a checkmark, when the message is delivered.

With Verizon people this is usually within a minute or so, of course unless my friend has his phone powered off - which he will do, then I don't get a checkmark until his cell gets the message.

With Non-Verizon people I don't get a green checkmark until a day later, must take longer to confirm they got it from another cell company.

The RED X is normally what I get when I try to send to a landline or an invalid phone number, or if I try to send a message - while my phone was getting an incoming message..or to someone who has text blocked. The RED X means it did not go through at all. I will re-send these if I know it's a cell phone that can get text. Then I usually make it to green arrow/then green checkmark.

I had this problem once with another cell and I found out that some of the text messages from other phones, like the LG and PDA phones send with kilobytes that are needed to be "downloaded" through a multi-media package or internet access. If you are able to send texts and they receive them, check with your carrier.
Also, try shutting the phone off and restarting.

Maybe you never activated the phone to receive txt messages. Call up sprint and activate incoming txt.
