I have a lenovo y500 laptop.it gets power off automatically after 10 to 20 minutes of starting.when i restart it ,it only works for 3-4 minutes and again gets power off.how i can stop it.is it h/w problem or s/w. i am not getting any work from my laptop.plz give me solution.

Based on your situation, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Download the updated Audio and Video driver here.

2. Go to Audio and Video section and make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system.

3. After downloading, install the drivers and then restart your computer.

hi! just a tip probably there is a problem on the power board, just a suggestion if your still on warranty might as well call lenovo tech support so that they could replace the defective part. hopr this helps! goodluck!

i hav lenovo 3000 y500 laptop when i try to charge its not gives any idication and if i press power button it just blow the battery light for thri four times

Hi I suggest you update your display driver first and then update others as well. Wrong drivers and incompatible bios versions can cause many problems....

uninstall driver then do a hardware refresh. reboot after install.

i have y500 laptop.i had da same problem.i took out da cd drive n cleaned da lens.now its working perfectly fine like a new cd drive..

right click my computer->properties->hardware->device manager->
check for device with ! mark
click plus sign next sound video and game controller
check if u have any any tv tuner card listed mark
.if TV tune card is not listed ,
turn off laptop
remove battery , remove power supplay
press and hold power button for 1 min
plug power cable back and turn on laptp with out battery and check.
