I am writing in pursuit of a solution to the problem of my 30D not turning on. I have taken off the battery pack and tried with a battery alone, and still, nothing works. However, when I open the CF card "drawer" and close it again, it shows signs of loading, and is responding as usual.
Any help would be much appreciated!
I seem to recall hearing that the power switch can be a problem on the 30D .. I'm not going to suggest you take it apart to clean the contacts .. better go to a Canon Dealer I think ..

Camera won't turn on only the print share light comes on.
I have a Canon 30D and am having a similar problem. I dropped my camera from about 2'. I don't see any physical damage but it will not power on. I checked the battery and everything I could think of. Any thoughts?
Camera just quit working. LCD blank. The blue transfer light is on constantly but nothing else works. Similar to the other two posts here.
I have the same problem, but I get no response when re-inserting the CF card. I do get a light flash on the SET wheel when I close the battery cover.
Can some body help me?
