The step after using cleaner solution and disk is cleaning the pickup lens inside the DVD.
You need to disconnect device from power and remove the case.
Find the lens, that is the glass lens and under the DVD clamp.
Use a cotton swab and some isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the lens.
Here is the complete procedure.
If it still does not work, you will need to replace the laser lens pickup that is the part below:
Use the schematics in the service manual if you decide to DIY
Or contact the nearest service.

Hi did you use a lense cleaning cloth or did you use the lense cleaning cd as some of the cloths can leave a smear on the lense causing the problem your having failing the solving your problem then the only other way to repair it is to get the laser unit replaced and recalibrated
Hmmm...how about cds? you may have a player that's gone bad..the lens may need to be cleaned.
Try cleaning the laser lens with a soft cloth or a dvd cleaner and let me know if this fixes the problem. If it doesn't I will propose another solution to try. Thank you and have a good day.

This is the Service Manual for your dvd player, not instruction manual, please refer to page 18 for troubleshooting and let me know how this goes and please be patient if I don't reply to a comment of yours, I am very busy and this is not my full time job. Thank you.

Usually answered in minutes!
I used a lens cleaning cloth as you suggested and it still does not recognize a DVD.
I have cleaned the lens as suggested by one of the "experts" and this did not help. He has not answered my reply so I'd like other suggestions please.
I was completely out of line for my wise crack. I was just frustrated because I did not hear back from bestdarngood when I replied to him. You were right to put me in my place.
Thank you so much. The cotton swab and the isopropyl alcohol worked like a charm. I truly appreciate your help. I have a disabled son who relies heavily on his DVD player. He is now a happy camper.
