I am replacing my old Jenn-Air cooktop with downdraft with a JED 8130. The fan assembly on my old unit was pointed toward the floor and my ductwork went through the floor, under cabinets and outside. The assembly in the new unit is directed toward the wall. Is there a way to rotate this assembly so that I can use my current ductwork?
Rotate the blower to the proper angle
needed for your installation. The blower
can be swiveled 90°. To rotate the blower:
a) Remove the filter from the blower housing
b) Loosen, but do not remove, the nuts
around blower inlet.
c) Rotate the blower housing for the
proper angle.
d) Retighten the four nuts and install the
filter.
try this its general for this type of cooktop

I have the same problem with a model JED8430 It appears that you need a special tool to get inside the plenum to get at the srews. However it appears that the plenum is one piece. Can you help???
