My Phillips 37FD9944/01S Plasma TV fails to come on and reverts to a flashing/blinking RED StandBy light from the GREEN power light. I have had it checked over by a TV repair shop to be told that it requires a new power supply, but that this is no longer available from Phillips....is there an alternative power supply I could use or does anyone know whare I might get 1 ? ....Actually 2 ...I bought another screen from eBay which has the same problem :-(
Thanks
Gary

I have two Phillips TV's one LCD and a plasma. And i got the same problem. I called a technitian and they told me it was the motherboard, so I went and bought a new one and threw away my 37" LCD.The 42' Plasma although having the same problem it does turn on after plugging out and and in over and over couple of times.

Tried caps and no help, From what i have herd the problem which is thermal is a fault with the small transformer. Simular to the standby trans in size on the power board. This is what appears to be the starting from cold issue is. I have herd that you might try resoldering the pins on the transformer. In the manufacturing process the coating on the windings must have not got cleaned enough to remove the coating from the connections. Causing a thermal resistance problem with the connections on the transformer. Have not found a source for a new transformer yet.
I have the same problem. I need a new power supply panel for my Philips 37FD9944 Plasma. But apparently its been discontinued, does anyone know where I can find one?
