Yelllow wont print,...changed cartage cleaned heads help
If after cleaning the print head and changing the cartridge yellow still doesn't print, it sounds like there may be a problem with the print head or the board that controls the print head. The print head may not be receiving the signal to turn on. Check the circuit boards on the machine for obvious damage or a burn smell. Depending on the model printer it may be cheaper to replace the printer than to have the board or print head replaced.
I let my 2200 sit for over two years, and now Yellow or Red doesn't print after numerous cleanings. I have to figure out how to manually clean the head, jets... I doubt that it is a circuit issue.
Original post by jamesgresik stated that "cleaned heads" , that is why mentioned a circuit board issue. Of course if you let your printer sit for 2 years the jets are going to be clogged
It's the method of cleaning that I am referring to. I have found no information on how to reach the jets on the Head cartridge. Are the ink jets directly below the intake spindle of each ink reservoir? Does the whole head assembly come off. It moves up a little using the Paper/Envelope lever on the back of the Printer. I’m not finding a clear answer on this.
I am sorry I miss understood your first comment. The "Jets" or the "Print Head" where the ink cartridges install was not engineered for easy removal. Most are on a shaft and are belt driven. Use extreme caution if you attempt to remove the print head. These printers are normally built so you toss them and buy a new one.
