Any PC that uses a motherboard with onboard video will either have a BIOS setting to disable the onboard video or it will automatically be disabled when you insert an external video card (AGP or ePCI).

I have an Emachince W2686 and I need a face plate for it. The button got stuck and it pulled the wires completely off the back of it. What do I do to fix this problem?

Pulled the wires off of just the Power On switch? http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html

(Goes inside the Power On button)

Or did you pull ALL the wires off of the Front Panel? (Also known as Front Bezel)

The eMachines W2686 uses a NexGen computer case.

Is this NexGen Front Bezel like yours?

W2686

Your problem would not be with a battery, but the power supply. Try plugging into a different outlet just to make sure, but sounds like you may need a new power supply.

Emachine w2686 no display when boot up

Couple things to check. First, check with different monitor. Their monitors are usually build by KDS and I think there was a bad series out there. Also check for any beep codes through speakers on startup, this can tell you bad ram or bad video out. Also try unplugging computer and removing CMOS battery inside (watch like battery). Lastly, If non of the above, a bad processor will allow the computer to come on but no beep, no boot, no nothing but fans and green power light. Hope this helps a little.....

Emachine 2685 no power up

from the spec of the motherboard it should be one of the pin headers near the Bios battery (looks like a coin on the mobo)

hopefully (if you look close enough) it should be marked pwr
