How do I remove the back from my Canon SX110IS? I have removed the 2 screws on the back above the lcd, one each on L and R of case, 2 below screen, one 1ach in A/V and battery compartments, but the back...

There are TWO screws on the right side, one is hiding under the cover for the USB connection!

Now you should be able to pop it off and... I'm guessing here... replace your cracked LCD screen. Good luck, hope this helps.

My wife is complaining that every time she turns off/on the camera she has to reset the data/time. I understand that when the batteries are changed the settings may be lost, but not simply when the camera...

Sounds to me that there may be another battery inside the camera that is going bad.

Issue: Everytime I power on the camera the Date / Time needs to be set.
Solution: Replacing the Date Battery for the PowerShot A480.

Replacing the Date Battery. If the Date/Time menu appears when the camera power is turned on, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settings have been lost. Please purchase a lithium coin battery (CR1220) and replace it as follows.
Please note that the first date battery may appear to expire relatively quickly after you purchase the camera. This is because it is installed in the camera at the point of manufacture, not when you make the purchase. caution.gifBe particularly careful to keep the date batteries out of the reach of children. Seek medical assistance immediately if a child swallows a battery since corrosive battery fluids can damage the stomach or intestinal walls. 1. Confirm that the camera power is turned off.
2. Open up the battery door / cover and remove the AA Batteries.
3. Remove the date/time battery holder.
4. Grasp the battery and slide it in the direction of the arrow.
a480backupbatt.jpg 5. Insert a new battery with the (+) side facing up.
6. Replace the battery holder and battery cover.
7. When the Date/Time menu appears set the date and time.
note.gif After purchasing the camera and turning on the power for the first time, although the Date/Time menu will appear, you do not need to replace the date battery. If you ever dispose of your camera, first remove the date battery for recycling according to the recycling system of your area.

To set the Date and Time, follow the instructions on page13 in the User Gide.
To set the camera to put date/time stamps on the photos, see instructions on pages 22-23.

I got to say that I just LOVE this camera! Had it twice - got stolen twice in South America! :(

Best regards,
Pelu.

You have to change the 'date battery'. Use the user manual to find its location.

Lens cover

Hey pkg414,
You could bring the camera to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they should be able to send it out for service, or you could contact the manufacturer and they should have a list of authorized service technicians in your area. I will also says if the camera is less than a year old the repair will probably be covered under manufacturers warranty and be no charge to you. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
